After 18 years in El Paso, TX, I packed up my Toyota Tacoma, tied my furniture down with twine, said a prayer, and headed East to Schreiner University in Kerrville, TX. It was here where Richard and I would first meet but strangely never date until both of us had graduated college. Richard was living in LA and I was in San Antonio. It wasn't long before we were married. Shortly after, a call from home presented Rich with a business opportunity, so we scrambled up our belongings and headed East for Lafayette. Did I mention I was pregnant in the midst of this? Anyway...here we are, 4 years later happily living in the heart of Cajun Country with our two beautiful daughters, Olivia and Emma.
In a sense, the culture-rich area of Lafayette reminds me of home in El Paso and it's prideful traditions. Most of which we still celebrate in our home today. Lafayette is a beautiful place filled with plenty of friendly-loving Cajuns and oversized plate lunches to photograph, and it's right where I want to be.
